Marsh, a certified sommelier, joins the California Winegrowers Association with an impressive nearly two decades of experience in the wine, beverage and retail industry. Until 2018, Marsh owned and operated Mile Wine Company, a renowned upscale wine bar and restaurant in the heart of Stockton’s Miracle Mile neighborhood. While there, he managed all aspects of operations, including revenue and expenses, inventory, media and vendor relations, food and beverage programming, and worked in the hotel industry with a team of 15-20 employees.
Marsh’s major accomplishments range from profit optimization to continued recognition for managed businesses, including awards for San Joaquin County’s #1 Wine Bar – Mile Wine Company (Stockton Record, 2015), Best Of – Mile Wine Company (Stockton Record, 2015-2017), Best of San Joaquin Magazine – Mile Wine Company (2015 and 2016.)), Unique Distinction – Firehouse Restaurant (), Best of Grand – Firehouse Restaurant (Wine Observer, four years) and Best of California Wine List – Firehouse Restaurant (California Restaurant Association).

As part of the Wine Commission, Lodi Marsh will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Lodi Wine Visitor Center, one of the region’s premier wine education and tasting centers. He will manage over 2,000 bottled wines from over 100 brands and continue to develop and improve the tasting and glassware program. Mr. Marsh will also create a guest and member experience to provide exceptional service and education, and will be responsible for managing general sales, as well as membership and sales for the 472-seat Lodi Wine Club.
Prior to that, Mr. Marsh worked for Mile Wine Company for five years as a wine buyer, certified sommelier and restaurant manager at the Firehouse Restaurant in Old Sacramento. In his multi-level position, Mr. Marsh oversaw the wine program of 25,000 bottles and 2,700 selections, in addition to managing the house staff and operations. There, his efforts resulted in an average profit on wine of $650,000, compared to $255,000 before his hiring. While there, Marsh co-created and launched the Cabernet Sauvignon Firehouse No. 3, Napa Valley Wine in 2007.
I am excited to bring my experience and passion for education to my new role as manager and director of the wine club at the Lodi Wine Visitor Center, says Marsh. I look forward to working with the community of Lodi to create the space and programs they love.
Mr. Marsh studied business administration at Eastern Florida State College and completed a certificate program in vineyard management and winemaking at UC Davis, as well as studies in viticulture, world wines and sensory perception. Mr. Marsh is an active member of the community and currently serves as a trustee for Water Reclamation District No. 828 Weber Tract, San Joaquin County, and member of the Rotary Club of Stockton. Mr. Marsh previously served on the board of directors of the Miracle Mile District (MMID) in Stockton.
