The popular meme-based cryptocurrency has had a series of ups and downs in recent days. An anonymous dog walker and beneficiary of the recent all-time high ($0.44) has made a philanthropic move for dogs.
A woman left the message Dogecoin as the reason for the donation
According to Fox 6, the woman donated the profits she made from maintaining a Shiba Indu dog mint to a dog shelter in Daytona Beach, Fla. The Halifax Humane Society manages the facility.
Barry Kukes, communications director for the Halifax Humane Society, said the dogs’ owner arrived at the shelter last weekend and had just paid the full adoption fee for the dogs.
He explained that although she had not made a direct donation to DOGE, he knew it was a memorial donation because the woman had left a note saying DOGE.
Kukes commented on the donation:
She made a smart investment in cryptocurrencies and had an accident. She said it changed her life and she wanted to do something good.
In addition, a representative from the Halifax Humane Society praised the timeliness of the donation, as they had saved 42 dogs from a dog fight in the city. However, Cookes told Fox8 that the donations only cover the cost of adopting the dogs available for adoption at the shelter.
The shelter has not disclosed the amount given by the anonymous woman. However, as Bitcoin.com recently reported, Doggone’s price has risen 18,299% in a year, reaching a high of $0.44 last Friday.
DOGE is up 18,299% in just 12 months.
This meme-based digital asset is also attracting the attention of celebrities and businessmen like Slim Jim, the famous jerky manufacturer.
And as usual, Tesla CEO Elon Musk tweeted on the 15th. April, once again, about DOGE.
He shared a meme and said: The barking of dojos on the moon. As a result, the prices of these items began to rise inexorably after this tweet.
According to markets.Bitcoin.com, DOGE is currently hovering around $0.2914, down -4.60%, with a market cap of $37.68 billion.
